“Mae Cogan, I reject you,” he said, the words effortlessly rolling off of his lips.

From outside of the diner, I stared in at the horrid scene and at my fragile body trembling in front of Damon’s huge beast. Tears streamed from my eyes, and I watched myself sprint out of the diner.

Moments later, I found myself walking back into the diner with a smile on my face.

“Mae Cogan, I reject you,” Damon said again.

More tears fell from my eyes, and I ran out.

Over and over again, he rejected me.

“Mae Cogan, I reject you.”

I couldn’t take it anymore. I couldn’t scream or tell myself to stop.

“Mae Cogan, I reject you.”

No.

“Mae Cogan, I reject you.”

No.

“Mae Cogan, I reject you.”

No. No. No. Stop it.
